NYC Productions provides intelligent lighting rentals for concerts, corporate events, galas, and private parties across New York City and the tri-state area. Intelligent lighting means moving fixtures under DMX control rather than static cans, so cues change with the room instead of holding one look all night.
A conventional fixture points one direction at one color. An intelligent fixture pans, tilts, changes color, shapes its beam, and shifts on a cue you program in advance. That difference matters most at the transitions: a keynote that shifts to an award presentation, a ceremony that becomes a reception, a set change between bands.
The categories we rent break down simply. Wash fixtures cover broad areas in even color and are what make a room feel like a designed space rather than a lit one. Spots produce a tight, defined beam and carry gobos for pattern projection onto walls, floors, and staging. Beams throw narrow shafts of light that read in haze, which is what you see cutting across a concert audience. Most events use a mix.
Our intelligent lighting inventory is built around Robe and Clay Paky fixtures, the same manufacturers used on major touring and broadcast productions. That choice costs more than the alternatives and it is deliberate. Color consistency across a rig matters, and fixtures that do not match make a wash look blotchy on camera even when they look acceptable to the eye.
We also supply the parts of a lighting package clients rarely think about until they are missing: control desks, DMX distribution, power distro, cable, and the truss and rigging hardware to hang it all safely.
Renting fixtures and having a lighting design are different things. Our designers build a plot around your room, your run of show, and your content, then program the cues so the operator is executing a plan rather than improvising.
For corporate work this usually means clean, even key light on presenters, brand color washes that match your palette exactly, and looks that change cleanly between segments. For concerts and parties it means a rig that moves with the music. For weddings and galas it means fixtures that disappear into the room while the light does the work.
If your event is filmed or streamed, lighting stops being decoration and becomes a technical requirement. Cameras need more light than eyes do, they need it consistent, and they need fixtures that do not flicker on sensor. Color temperature has to hold across the stage or faces shift between shots.
We plan for the camera when a camera is in the room, and we would rather ask about it during quoting than have your video team discover the problem in the edit.
Concerts and festivals need rigs that read from a distance and hold up across a run. Corporate events and conferences need presenter lighting, brand color, and clean segment transitions. Weddings and galas need warm, flattering coverage with fixtures that stay visually discreet. Product launches and activations need punch and precision on the reveal.
Our crew handles delivery, rigging, focus, programming, and strike. A technician stays through the event, so if a cue needs adjusting or a fixture needs attention, someone who knows the rig is already in the room.
We serve New York City and the greater tri-state area, including Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and we can combine lighting with audio and video in a single build so you are coordinating one crew instead of three.
Tell us your venue, date, room size, run of show, and whether cameras will be present, and we will put together a plot and a quote built around the event.
